There is a particular beauty in the left behind, forgotten, and overlooked details that surround us each day. My work focuses on taking that moment to stop and appreciate the little things in our world. I was around 7 years old when I received my first camera and became immersed in the world of photography. Bright yellow 110 film camera in hand, I would seek out odd and different things to take pictures of. Shooting the shapes and swirls that made up a piece of tree bark, or capturing the pattern of holes eaten into a leaf by a hungry caterpillar is where I started. More than three decades later and I still find joy in seeking out life’s hidden pictures.
Don’t be afraid to get weird with it.

Reflection
Windows were made to be able to see through them. If we only focus on what we’re supposed to see through the window, we’ll miss out on a whole world captured in the reflections of these surfaces.

Mechanics 2
Despite the amount of rust and decay visible on this now forgotten piece of machinery, you can see the faint hint of new life growing up through it. The new growth has given this behemoth of rust a new purpose.
3.
Trains
While walking through a yard full of old train cars, I found myself completely immersed in a never ending array of interesting little details I would have never had the opportunity to see if I were a passenger on this train.

Mechanics 3
From afar this looked like an old rusty piece of machinery of indeterminate use. Up close it was a collection of different shapes, patterns, vectors, and planes.
